It is an impressive structure, with a large, sturdy building and two watchtowers on the west side. The fort is made of stone, mud-brick, adobe, and palm-wood planking. Access to the Fort is granted through a gate that is no taller than one meter. Once inside, visitors are welcomed into a large and open hall known locally as 'The Fort Plate.' The modern Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Fujairah is an impressive structure that spans an area equivalent to three football pitches. It is adorned with six towering minarets, each reaching a height of 100 meters. The prayer hall is mammoth in size, accommodating up to 32,000 worshipers. The traditional Ottoman-style mosque in Fujairah City has emerged as a prominent landmark and holds the distinction of being the second-largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates. Non-Muslim visitors are welcome to enter the mosque and admire its ornate interior, which showcases magnificent chandeliers and Moorish-style arches. The visiting hours for non-Muslims are from 9 am to noon, Saturday through Thursday. 

One of the main activities for hikers and climbers in Fujairah is to explore the wadis of the Hajar Mountains. Some of the most stunning wadis in the region include Wadi Siji, Wadi Saham, and Wadi Maidaq. Wadi Ham is the longest valley, stretching from its northern section in Ras Al-Khaimah to its southern tip in Fujairah. Similarly, Wadi Al Taiwan is a delightful destination to explore, offering a picturesque mountainous route to reach it. Located north of Fujairah, Wadi al-Wurayah is widely recognized as the United Arab Emirates' most renowned wadi.
